Why the 100 unit vial

Sitting between the 50iu and 200iu presentations, the 100 unit vial is the option most practices settle on once botulinum toxin becomes a regular fixture in the diary rather than an occasional request. One vial covers a working list without leaving a large made-up volume unused at the end of the day.

Handling does not change with the count. The vial keeps at room temperature until it is first made up, after which it belongs in the refrigerator; the active component is the neurotoxin produced by Clostridium botulinum, which relaxes the subcutaneous muscles behind facial lines and wrinkles. Appointments are short. Because the follow-up round generally falls six to nine months later, buyers often order ahead so the next cycle is already on the shelf.
